Pam Lang, Office ManagerPam Lang, Office Manager
The first person you are likely to have contact with when you call Seattle Home Maternity Service is our office manager Pam Lang. Pam began her long relationship with SHMS in 1980 when she gave birth to her first daughter at home with Marge and Suzy as her midwives. After her second daughter’s birth in 1985, Pam became the clinic’s part time office manager, and worked there until 1991. At that point, she made the decision to leave the clinic to work full-time as a mother. Now that her daughters are both grown, Pam has resumed her position as office manager, where she has made herself indispensable! Asked what she enjoys most about the job, Pam says “holding all those babies!”

Victoria Malloy, Alternative Billing Services
Victoria founded and operates a small medical billing service for midwives. She became interested in helping midwives and their clients get the best reimbursement for services from a consumer advocacy perspective after she had her son Henry at home with midwives.

Victoria provides a personal and professional service for midwives and their clients. She is available to answer the full spectrum of questions related to insurance coverage and billing, from how to select an insurance plan that covers your choice of provider, to help with getting your insurance plan to fully cover your care. You can contact Victoria directly by calling her office at 206-932-0870.

Education of future midwives
We are very proud of our role as teachers of the next generation of midwives. Over the past 30 years we have participated in the training of more than 50 student midwives enrolled at Seattle Midwifery School. Midwifery students bring enthusiasm, current information and deep commitment to serving women. They are honored to participate in your care, which always occurs under the direct supervision of the senior midwife. From time to time, we have also had the pleasure of welcoming physicians interested in learning about midwifery care and natural birth for short observational rotations. Your midwife is always available to address questions or concerns about how students will be involved in your care and you, ultimately, decide the role you are most comfortable with.
